Our Exclusive Top 3 Travel Locations in the Alps

Many only associate this area of Europe with being a winter destination, but we would like to show you why it is an incredible place to visit in all seasons. However, if you are looking for a snowy getaway for next year then we have you covered, too.

Ehrwald, Austria

Ehrwald is located in Austria on the German border. This little town is nestled right below the Zugspitze mountain. With 2,962 metres, it is not only Germany’s tallest mountain, but it’s also the tallest mountain in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena.

Known for it’s incredible skiing in winter, but also amazing hiking in summer months. A cable car takes you to the top of the mountain and starts just a short walk from the parking location. The 10 minute trip up the mountain feels almost too short, as there is too much beauty to take in on the way up. They also offer sunrise and sunset rides up and down the mountain, which are definitely worth taking.

Park your STX Motorhome at the Tiroler Zugspitz Resort. They offer a variety of parking packages and you can enjoy all of the luxuries of the resort, staying in your own motorhome.

Lucerne, Switzerland

The city of Lucerne is a must stop for anyone visiting Switzerland.  Well known for its stunning medieval architecture and beautiful location on the edge of Lake Lucerne, surrounded by snow capped mountains.

The perfect location for a weekend trip to soak up the culture and atmosphere and eat some delicious food. You should definitely add a few things to your list of to-do’s when visiting the city: wonder through the old town, along the iconic Chapel Bridge, visit one of the many museums and take a cruise on the lake. And if we’re speaking of to-do’s then you definitely need to add some of Switzerland’s tradition foods onto your list. Did anyone say Swiss cheese & Rosti?!

Park your STX Motorhome at Camping International Lido Luzern. The site is right next to the lake, with parking spots surrounded by trees. You are only a 5 minute walk from the peer to catch a boat into the centre of the city.

Vienna, Austria

Our final location had to be Vienna. One of the most iconic cities in Europe. The capital offers a unique combination of imperial traditions and stunning modern architecture. Known for its cultural events, coffee houses, imperial sights, cosy taverns, and of course the Viennese charm.

If you happen to be in Vienna in winter during ball season, then you have to join one of the hundreds of balls. Nowhere else can balls be compared to those as romantic and festive as in Vienna.

Apart from dancing and drinking delicious wine, the food scene in Vienna will marvel your taste buds. How about a traditional Wiener Schnitzel and maybe later something for the sweet tooth: Kaiserschmarrn!

Park your STX Motorhome just across the Danube river at Camping Neue Donau. This parking is perfectly located on the border of the city and only a 15min walk from the metro, which will take you to the action in no time.
