Fall is a magical time, but sometimes the weather may not be in our favor. That’s why it’s good to have some indoor activities on your to do list as well! Indulge yourself in culture by visiting some of the finest museums in Europe. While these museums are in the city, there are plenty parking locations in the outskirts of the center. Public transport is recommended to access the city center.
The National Gallery of Denmark, Copenhagen, Denmark: Enjoy a day filled with Nordic and International art. From the 7th of November the museum will open a new temporary exhibition by Käthe Kollwitz. Kollowitz was one of the most influential artists in the 20th century. SMK will showcase Kollowitz in its entirety – as a sketchartist, printmaker and sculptor. The permanent exhibitions include Danish and Nordic art from 1700 – 1900, Danish and International art from 1900 onwards, European art from 1300 – 1800 and French art 1900 – 1930.
The British Museum, London, UK: The world renown British Museum offers several impressive exhibitions this fall. Explore the two special exhibitions, Burma to Myanmar highlighting the transformations Myanmar has gone through from being one of the most influential superpowers to become a repressive regime, and Legion; Life in the Roman Army exploring the Roman Empire through the life and service of real Roman soldiers. The Uffizi Gallery, Florence, Italy: Admire Renaissance masterpieces in one of the most well-respected art museums in the world. The Uffizi Gallery exhibitions are scattered between its three galleries: Gli Uffizi, Palazzo Pitti, and Giardino di Boboli. Normally Corridoio Vasariano is also a part of the Uffizi Gallery museums, but it remains closed for renovation until further knowledge.
